We live in a broken world which often means enduring hardship and suffering. If you are here, I am assuming there is some amount of pain or discomfort you or a family member are experiencing. I am happy you are taking this first step, exploring your options, looking for a way to cope with whatever hard time you are wading through.
Finding a counselor that is the right fit can be overwhelming. My therapy style is client-centered, which means I cater to my client’s particular needs. Using an eclectic approach I design a treatment plan tailored to best fit you. That being said, my training is rooted in Family Systems theory, which means whether working with an individual, a couple, a child, or a family unit, I consider many different factors that play into the issue at hand.
I help my clients as they walk through life’s valleys. Meeting them in the dark places to acknowledge and support my clients enables them to explore and discover their own worth and value. Just as we are hurt in relationships, I believe that we are also healed in relationship with one another. Together, we will find the tools and insight to process your experience and hopefully you will leave feeling encouraged.
I have training in Christian counseling. Using an integrative approach, I use biblical knowledge and Scripture as well as evidenced based practices to bring healing and hope to those who wish to include their Christian faith in their counseling sessions.
In particular, I enjoy marriage and family therapy. This includes pre-marital counseling, marital counseling, counseling for mothers who are struggling to adjust to the new demands of parenthood (whether that is biological or via fostering and adoption), teenagers or young adults making life transitions, and child-centered play therapy. My passion is ultimately helping families and couples become stronger. Specifically, I have found the importance of working with re-marriage, co-parenting, and step-families because although it is not uncommon, these circumstances often come with a unique set of difficulties.
If you, your children, or your family needs help and guidance making their way through a tough time, please call and set up an appointment with me today! I look forward to joining you as you become stronger and enjoy the healing that awaits.
