Meet Yemi Lekuti
Yemi Lekuti, Ph.D, LPC, CGCS, CGP

“The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make a decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.” – Deepak Chopra
The knowledge, messages from our environments, personal experiences, and meaning have shaped how we view and interact with each other and the world. Life tends to be complex, unpredictable, and challenging. The other side of that is that we do not have to coast in life believing things cannot change. As a therapist, it is important for me to know that the individuals who sit in my office are heard, seen, and validated. I am always honored to be trusted enough to be a part of their journey and newfound revelation on life.
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Houston in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies followed by completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Abilene Christian University. In May of 2020, I will be graduating from Texas Women’s University with my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Throughout my academic journey, I have had the opportunity to present several of my research at national conferences and one research publication.
My approach to therapy is an integrative, collaborative foundation that allows my clients to take an active role in the process of making an adaptable and productive change they desire to make. My job is to facilitate a safe environment for my clients to do so. By drawing out their inner strengths and providing necessary insight on having a better understanding of themselves. You are the expert of your life and I want to be able to empower and motivate you to use the issues you are facing as the fertilizer for your personal growth.
I enjoy working with couples and families, addressing issues of faith, identity, and sexuality, parenting (biological, foster, adoptive), life transitions for teens and adults, play therapy for children, dating and marital issues, and social and multicultural concerns. It does not matter where you are in life or what you are dealing with, I am available via telehealth to help you understand your journey, reignite your passion, and support your goals in obtaining a fulfilling life.
