Meet Rachael Reed
Rachael Reed, LPC, LMFT-Associate
Hi there, my name is Rachael Reed, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist - Associate. My pursuit of becoming a counselor began when I started my undergraduate degree at Sam Houston State University. During college I taught tennis full time, and it was evident that my love of coaching and teaching, along with my ability to connect with adolescents, sparked a true passion to pursue counseling. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Services followed by a master’s degree in Counseling, with a concentration in Marriage, Couples, and Family. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy through North Central University to continue to provide the best care for clients.
Having experienced being “on the other side of the couch” I believe that I have a unique ability to connect and empathize with many clients. As a counselor it is my driving purpose to remove the stigma of seeking mental health services. My main focus is to ensure that I meet the client where they are in their season of life by providing an environment that builds a trusting relationship, where the client feels heard and accepted. While utilizing various modalities of psychotherapy this offers clients the most effective methods for treatment. My philosophy is to utilize a family systems approach that focuses on relational patterns to create positive and lasting change by offering valuable insight. I use a solution focused approach that meets your goals and specific needs by identifying the strengths necessary to be successful in life.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, a residential facility for adolescents, a psychiatric hospital and a nonprofit organization providing services to young women, couples and families experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and grief and loss. I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside you during your counseling journey.
