It doesn’t matter how many times you have found yourself in the same place, desiring the same change. Every day is a Fresh Start. Make your goal for change your screen saver, put stickies on your bathroom mirror, on your car dashboard, or computer screen. Print and post all the quote pictures I am providing or whatever works for you! Giving yourself simple reminders throughout the day will help keep you moving forward in your change. After all, you are your best and most credible cheerleader. You are making this change for yourself, right? That is why you are the only credible cheerleader as you move through the steps towards change. If you are looking for validation from others it is not likely you will be successful. After all, the commitment is to yourself, correct? So give yourself credit, a simple pat on the back or think positive thoughts intentionally. It doesn’t have to be big, just be nice to yourself.
With all that said, don’t go overboard, or your brain will think you are finished. Save the tangible rewards for when you’ve reached your goal, it will help you keep your focus! So keep it verbal or small!
